Back from hols

Back from a few days’ holiday to find Spain will play Germany in the final of Euro 2008. I fancy Spain on last night’s performance.

Boris is settling in as Mayor rather well and is gradually getting rid of some of Ken’s worst excesses and introducing some good ideas of his own – such as no drinking on the Tube. Pity the Beeb seem determined to try to find a ‘gaffe’ to criticise. I did see a non-story about some document years old which he seemed not to have read and which had been cooked up between Ken and Tessa Jowell. Come to think of it – how much credence can one give to an agreement made by that pair?

Labour lost their deposit at Henley and came 5th. The Lib Dems fought their usual negative campaign, it seems, and came second. And YouGov says the Tory lead has been slashed — to 18%!! Labour have made some headway at the expense of the Lib Dems.

Not bad!
